The words “Mon Ame Glorifie Le Seigneur” which adorn the arch of the sanctuary leave no doubt as to the purpose of this structure as a sacred space. The words translated as “My Soul Glorifies the Lord” seem to personify the structure as a whole, as if the building itself is speaking of it’s own purpose.
